On the Road. Again.

We decided not to stay an extra night at Grand Canyon, but we did go back to revisit it this morning as the sun was shining a little brighter. We went back to one of the lookouts to the West and it was well worth it. In addition, we had the whole lookout area to ourselves for quite a while, ample opportunity to take silly photos!

Still magnificent!

We started out for the town of Williams which was the last town on Route 66 to be bypassed by the highway. We drove past an air museum, however, this was closed for the winter. Besides getting us back on Route 66, there was a patchwork shop which I wanted to visit. I  was greeted with the sign on the door:

Door sign
Unfortunately we have seen evidence of many businesses going bust. Maybe this is something Mr Trump thinks he can fix. So strike two for us (one for the air museum, one for the patchwork shop). We explored Williams a bit more, however, it was mostly another tourist trap. Onwards along route 66 toward Seligman.

We're doing the red road!

The country side remained much the same, however, somewhat warmer. A few sights along the way:

When we drove through the almost ghost town of Seligman, suddenly Sam exclaimed "we have that puzzle"! Coincidentally, we have a jigsaw puzzle of the exact place here. Amazing!

We kept on driving until we reached Kingman where we stayed the night.
